County Line SEPTA Regional Rail Station

The proposed SEPTA County Line Station could potentially be located across the street from the former Reading Company Station. This station could be a potential park-and-ride location. The current site is occupied by Bostik, and is scheduled to close this plant by 2012. This station is also within walking distance to the Huntingdon Glen industrial park and would attract reverse commuters that would be within a 2 block walk from the station to their job.

Benefits

  • Reverse Commuters to Huntingdon Glen (walkers)
  • New Road residents in Upper Southampton (walkers)
  • Upper Moreland residents in the Justa Farm apartment complex (seasonal walkers)
  • Upper Southampton Industrial Park (Jaymore Road) reverse commuters
  • Captures eastbound County Line Road traffic from Warminster/Warrington and reduces traffic east of this station (east of the turnpike)
  • Reduces traffic on Bustleton Ave/ByberryRoad/Woodhaven Road
  • Quick Facts

Municipality: Upper Moreland Township - County: Montgomery
    Projected Daily Ridership: 400
Train time to Suburban Station: 42 minutes

Potential site for the new County Line SEPTA station.

The new County Line station site has ample room to park 500-800 cars and would substantially benefit Upper Moreland and Upper Southapton Townships. A menu of options should be studied for this site, such as a parking facility with commercial space that would make county line a destination for drive-up commuters, walkers and reverse commuters.

The Huntingdon Glen Business Complex would be an instant winner with SEPTA Newtown rail service.
