About PA-TEC
The Pennsylvania Transit Expansion Coalition is a volunteer organization, with supporters from across the region who are interested in the expansion of rail based passenger transportation services in the state of Pennsylvania.
The current goal of PA-TEC is to function as the catalyst for the professional study of the transit needs of the Northeast Philadelphia, Bucks and Montgomery County areas, most notably along the Newtown Corridor, and to factor in the needs that were ignored by previous and current studies.
PA-TEC is currently focused on the reinstatement of rail service to Newtown. The Newtown project was chosen based on current transit conditions in the area, estimated project cost, ridership, corridor status and benefit to the served region. A significant amount of local interest from residents along the corridor has also contributed to the organization of this effort.
Our organization is made up of a diverse number of supporters with experience in technology, law, sales, graphics design, engineering, education, energy management, manufacturing, railroad operations & construction, and transportation systems and planning. We welcome new members and ideas. To join, please contact us.
